How AFS 777 LLC handles information on this website, in our aviation services and in the D-ATIS iPhone app.

Note for the site owner (remove before launch): This page is not legal advice. Have an attorney review it before you publish, and confirm that the App Store “App Privacy” answers match this page.

1. Summary

  • We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
  • Form submissions for checkrides and U.S. Agent for Service go through Netlify Forms and are emailed to us. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
  • The Logbook, Endorsements and e-signatures tools keep data only in your browser. Backup files stay wherever you save them.
  • D-ATIS (web and iPhone) stores favorites and preferences on your device. Weather and ATIS data come from public sources. The iPhone app does not use your device location and has no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
  • If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp (Meta) handles that message under its own privacy policy. The site loads no WhatsApp or Meta scripts.
  • While this site is private, Netlify team login (SSO) is required to open it.

2. Who we are

This policy applies to the website at afs777.com (including the live D-ATIS web demo, Regulations, Logbook, Endorsements, DPE Services and U.S. Agent for Service pages) and to the D-ATIS iPhone app (together, the “Services”), provided by:

AFS 777 LLC
a Florida limited liability company
Suite 322, 310 Almond St., Clermont, FL 34711
Phone: (407) 205-7555
WhatsApp (messages only): +1 (939) 888-3062
Privacy requests: admin@afs777.com

“AFS 777,” “we,” “us” and “our” mean AFS 777 LLC.

3. Information we collect

We collect only what you give us or what is needed to run the Services. We do not require an account to browse the public pages once the site is open, and D-ATIS does not ask for your name.

3.1 Information you send us (forms and email)

Checkride request (DPE Services)

The checkride request form on /dpe/ is a Netlify Form (checkride-request). It may include:

  • Your name, email and optional phone number
  • FAA Tracking Number (FTN), optional IACRA application ID, and pilot certificate number
  • Requested checkride category and type, preferred dates, knowledge-test details
  • Aircraft type, ICAO designator, N-number and airport
  • Instructor name, certificate number, phone and email; flight school; notes
  • Optional file uploads: knowledge test report, logbook endorsements, and (for retests or continuations) a Notice of Disapproval or Letter of Discontinuance (PDF or photo; 8 MB total across files)
  • Your acknowledgment that you have read the checkride policies

Uploads guidance: Please do not upload your photo ID or medical certificate (or BasicMed documents). Bring those on checkride day. Upload only the documents the form asks for. We use the information to reply, schedule and prepare for the practical test, and to meet FAA examiner recordkeeping where it applies.

U.S. Agent for Service request

The request form on /agent/ is a Netlify Form (agent-request). It may include your name, email, optional phone, country of residence, foreign address, FAA certificate numbers and types, the certificate categories you hold or are applying for, notes, and your consent to the service terms. We use it to decide whether we can accept the designation, to reply, and to provide the agent service.

Contact form and other email

The contact page form sends your name, email, subject and message to our Netlify Function (contact), which emails them to admin@afs777.com through our email delivery provider, Resend, with your email address set as the reply-to address. The website does not store the message; we keep it in our email and use it to reply to you. The form also has a hidden field that people never see, used only to filter automated spam. The “Get notified” signup on the D-ATIS page emails the address you enter to AFS 777 (admin@afs777.com) only so we can tell you when the iPhone app is available; the address is not stored in a database. If you email us directly (including privacy requests to admin@afs777.com), we receive whatever you put in the message.

WhatsApp

The contact page and the U.S. Agent for Service pages have a “Message us on WhatsApp” link to our WhatsApp Business number, +1 (939) 888-3062. The link is a plain wa.me link that opens WhatsApp with a short pre-filled message you can edit or delete. We do not load any WhatsApp or Meta script on this site, and nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp. If you message us, we receive your WhatsApp profile name, your phone number and whatever you send, and we use it to reply to you. WhatsApp messages are handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy; see the WhatsApp Privacy Policy. Please do not send FAA documents, IDs or other sensitive information over WhatsApp unless we ask for it. Use the request forms or email instead.

3.2 Payments (Stripe)

U.S. Agent for Service payments ($49/year per person) use a Stripe Payment Link. You enter card details on Stripe’s pages. Stripe processes the payment and emails you a receipt. AFS 777 never receives or stores your full card number. We receive confirmation that you paid (and related billing details Stripe shares with merchants, such as the email and amount). Stripe’s own privacy policy applies to data it processes as a payment provider.

3.3 Technical information from hosting and access

  • Netlify hosting: when you load pages or call our weather function, Netlify’s servers receive standard request data (IP address, user-agent, URLs, timestamps) for delivery, security and reliability.
  • Site access (current): the site is currently private. Opening it requires a Netlify team / SSO login. Netlify handles that authentication; we do not run our own password system for visitors.
  • Weather relay: looking up METAR, TAF or airport info calls our Netlify Function (wx), which forwards only a validated 4-character ICAO code (or GFA image metadata parameters) to aviationweather.gov. The function does not store the airport codes you look up.

3.4 Analytics (planned)

We do not currently run any analytics or advertising script on the site. We plan to add Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly service that is cookieless, reports only aggregate statistics (for example page views, referring sites, and country and device type), collects no personal data and does not track you across sites. Plausible is hosted in the EU. See Plausible’s data policy. We will not use it for ads or cross-site tracking. This section describes our plan and applies only once Plausible is turned on. We will update this policy if we choose a different provider.

4. Browser-only tools (Logbook, Endorsements, e-signatures, Regulations)

These tools run in your browser. AFS 777 does not receive their contents.

  • Logbook (beta): flights, training-device sessions and ground lessons (including names you enter, such as safety pilots and supervising PICs), instructor and supervising-PIC e-signatures, void records and integrity hashes are stored in this browser’s localStorage. Export backup downloads a JSON file that you keep (for example in iCloud Drive, Google Drive or on your computer). Restore reads a file you choose. We never see those files unless you choose to email one to us.
  • Endorsements: CFI details and signed endorsement records (including signature images and hashes) are stored in this browser’s localStorage. Logbook backups may include them because they share the same browser storage. If you choose Add to logbook on a signed endorsement, a locked copy is also saved in the Logbook’s browser storage and included in its backups.
  • E-signatures: drawing and hashing happen on your device. Signed records stay in the Logbook or Endorsements storage above.
  • Regulations: the regulations search uses static data we publish with the site. A small preference (whether to search all parts) may be saved in localStorage.

Clearing site data, using private browsing or switching devices can erase browser-only data. Export backups regularly while the Logbook is in beta.

5. D-ATIS iPhone app

This section describes the current D-ATIS iPhone app source (bundle id com.glenrich.datis). Widgets and ATIS-change alerts are listed on the product page as in development and are not described as live features here.

  • On-device storage: favorite airports, recent lookups and display preferences (for example how ATIS lines are shown) are saved with Apple’s UserDefaults / @AppStorage on the device. We do not receive them. There is no iCloud sync of those preferences in the current app.
  • Network requests the app makes:
    • Digital ATIS text from the public Clowd / atis.info API (datis.clowd.io, which may redirect to atis.info)
    • METAR, TAF and airport/runway data from aviationweather.gov
    • Graphical Forecasts for Aviation (GFA) images and related metadata from aviationweather.gov
Those providers receive your device’s IP address and standard request information under their own practices. AFS 777 does not operate those APIs.
  • Location: the app does not use Core Location or ask for your device’s GPS location. Airport coordinates used for GFA coverage come from a bundled airport list, aviationweather.gov airport data or the METAR — not from your phone’s location.
  • Third-party SDKs: the current app does not include third-party analytics, advertising, crash or marketing SDKs.
  • Crash and diagnostic data: if you have opted in (in iOS Settings) to share analytics / crash data with app developers, Apple may provide us with standard App Store Connect crash reports and diagnostics. That path is Apple’s; we do not run a separate crash SDK. If you have not opted in, we do not receive those reports.
  • Push notifications: not implemented in the current app. If we add them later, we will update this policy before collecting an Apple push token or alert preferences.

The live D-ATIS web demo works the same way for data sources: ATIS from atis.info, METAR/TAF/airport via our Netlify weather function, and GFA images loaded by your browser from aviationweather.gov. Favorites on the web stay in your browser.

6. How we use information

  • To provide and improve the Services (host the site, show weather and ATIS, run forms and payment links)
  • To respond to checkride requests, agent requests and other messages you send
  • To accept and carry out U.S. Agent for Service designations (notify you of FAA documents served on us for you, and keep records of what we received and when we forwarded them)
  • To prepare for and conduct practical tests as an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner, and to keep records the FAA expects examiners to keep
  • To process payments through Stripe and reconcile paid agent service
  • To protect the security and integrity of the Services and to comply with law

We do not use personal information for targeted advertising.

Practical tests (DPE / IACRA)

Information from a checkride request and from the test day (including IACRA / FTN details, certificate information, aircraft and instructor information, and outcome documents such as temporary certificates, Notices of Disapproval or Letters of Discontinuance) may be disclosed to the FAA as required for examiner duties and airman certification. We do not use that information for marketing.

U.S. Agent for Service (USAS)

If you designate AFS 777 as your U.S. agent in the FAA’s USAS system, the FAA may serve documents on us for you. We use your contact details and those documents only to notify you, transmit the documents to you, and keep records of receipt and forwarding. We do not respond to the FAA on your behalf. We may disclose information when the law or an FAA requirement obliges us to.

Other legal process

We may disclose information if required by a valid legal process, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets (in which case we would expect the successor to honor this policy or give notice of changes).

8. Service providers

We use companies that process data on our behalf or that you interact with directly when using the Services:

  • Netlify — website hosting, Netlify Forms (checkride and agent requests, including file uploads), serverless weather function, and (while the site is private) team SSO login. Form notifications are emailed to us.
  • Google Workspace — we receive and store business email (including form notification emails) in our Google Workspace mailbox at admin@afs777.com.
  • Stripe — payment processing for U.S. Agent for Service Payment Links.
  • WhatsApp (Meta) — only if you choose to message us on WhatsApp. WhatsApp handles those messages under the WhatsApp Privacy Policy.
  • Plausible Analytics (planned) — cookieless aggregate site statistics, only once turned on (see section 3.4).
  • aviationweather.gov (U.S. National Weather Service) — METAR, TAF, airport and GFA data. Our relay passes only the lookup parameters described above; GFA images may be requested by your browser or app directly.
  • atis.info / Clowd — Digital ATIS feed used by the web demo and iPhone app.
  • Apple — App Store distribution; optional developer crash/diagnostic reports if you have opted in with Apple.

Each provider has its own privacy policy for the data it processes.

9. Sharing and sales

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with the service providers above as needed to operate the Services, with the FAA when examiner or agent duties require it, when you ask us to, or when the law requires.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

  • Essential / hosting: Netlify may set cookies needed to deliver the site and, while SSO is enabled, to keep you signed in to the private site.
  • Stripe: Stripe may set cookies on its checkout pages when you pay.
  • Browser storage: Logbook, Endorsements and some preferences use localStorage / sessionStorage on your device (not advertising cookies).
  • Analytics: none today. Plausible Analytics, which we plan to add, does not use cookies (see section 3.4). We will not add advertising cookies without updating this policy.

We do not use advertising or social-media tracking pixels on the site today.

11. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal and FAA recordkeeping, then delete or de-identify it when we no longer need it.

  • Checkride request emails, uploads and related scheduling correspondence: 7 years
  • Records related to practical tests we conduct as an examiner: kept as required by current FAA guidance for designated examiners
  • U.S. Agent for Service client details and copies of documents we received/forwarded: 7 years after the agency relationship ends
  • Contact and general inquiry emails, and WhatsApp messages: 7 years
  • Stripe payment records: kept by Stripe under its policies; our copies of receipts/confirmations: 7 years
  • Netlify host logs: under Netlify’s retention for security and operations
  • Browser-only Logbook / Endorsements data: until you clear site data or restore over it; we do not hold a copy
  • App Store Connect crash reports (if any): under Apple’s retention for those reports

12. Security

We use HTTPS for the website, rely on Netlify and Stripe for secure hosting and payments, and limit access to business email and form submissions to people who need them for the Services. File uploads on the checkride form are stored by Netlify with the form submission and linked in the notification email. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use unique passwords for any Netlify or related accounts and tell us promptly at admin@afs777.com if you believe your information was mishandled.

13. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (including Florida and other U.S. states with privacy laws), you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete information we hold, subject to legal and FAA retention obligations (for example, we may need to keep examiner or agent-service records even if you ask us to delete a marketing-style inquiry)
  • Receive information about the categories of data we collect and the parties we share with (as described in this policy)
  • Opt out of sale or sharing for targeted advertising — we do not sell or share for those purposes

To exercise these rights, email admin@afs777.com. We will need enough information to verify your request. You may also:

  • Clear browser site data to remove Logbook / Endorsements / favorites stored on that device
  • Delete or reinstall the iPhone app to clear on-device favorites and preferences
  • Adjust Apple’s Analytics & Improvements settings to stop sharing crash data with developers
  • U.S. Agent for Service: the fee is $49 per person per year, or $39 each per year for five or more people on one company invoice (the company pays once for the group). The $49 charge renews automatically each year. Cancel anytime by emailing admin@afs777.com before your renewal date; refunds follow the refund policy. If you cancel or don’t pay, the service stops at the end of the paid year: we still forward FAA mail we already received, but we don’t accept new FAA mail after that date, so update your designation in USAS yourself (see the agent page FAQ).

Florida residents may have additional rights under applicable Florida law. This policy is meant to be readable; it is not a complete statement of every statute. Contact us, or consult an attorney, if you have questions about your rights.

14. Children and student pilots

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have received information from a child under 13, contact admin@afs777.com and we will delete it.

Flight training often involves student pilots who are minors aged 14 or older (for example a student pilot certificate applicant). A checkride request or related email for a minor student should be submitted by a parent or legal guardian, or by the student’s instructor with the parent/guardian’s knowledge, and should use a parent/guardian or instructor contact email where practical. We use that information only to schedule and conduct the practical test and related FAA processes. We do not use it for marketing to minors.

15. Email communications

We email you when you have asked us to (form replies, scheduling, agent-service notices, payment follow-up). Stripe sends its own receipts. We do not run a marketing newsletter today. If we start a mailing list later, we will say so here and include an unsubscribe method.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the Services change (for example when SSO is removed, when analytics go live, or when iPhone widgets/alerts ship). We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective / last updated date above. For material changes that affect how we use personal information we already hold, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected people (for example by email if we have an address for the service involved).
